Moving the Goalposts (MTG) Family mourns the loss of Bob Munro, the founder of the Mathare Youth Sports Association (MYSA). Bob will remain a beacon of hope and inspiration to countless young Kenyans.

Back when MTG was starting Bob shared stories with our founder, Sarah, of how he began MYSA with a group of boys in Mathare. He was willing to answer all Sarah’s questions and connected her to the people who were leading MYSA at the time, the late Peter Serry, Francis Kimanzi, Salim Mohammed, Jacqueline Wanyonyi and Joseph Jagero.

MYSA was a huge building block in the foundations of MTG.

Bob had a huge heart for supporting young Kenyans, he could see their potential and he allowed their ideas to flourish. He gave them space to be innovative and to believe they had the answers to their problems.

Bob Munro was more than a mentor; he was a legend whose impact will ripple through generations.

Rest in peace, Bob.
