Rachel was born and raised in Nairobi where she attended primary school at Visa Oshwal Primary School and then State House Girls High School. Rachel is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, with over 10 years’ experience. She studied Law (LLB) at the University of Nairobi, and pursued a Masters (LLM) in International Legal Studies with a focus on Human Rights in Washington DC at Georgetown University.

Rachel is widely travelled and a prolific speaker using her legal background and the various positions she has held to move the agenda of women’s right to access to education and financial independence and freedom from physical and mental harm. She has spoken on Capitol Hill, in various European and African women’s rights forums and has had various televisions and radio appearances in the local media.

Rachel was recognized by the Business Daily in 2015 in their Top 40 Under 40 Women award.
