Hailing from a humble background, Amina is the eldest of five siblings. Her parents work tirelessly to make ends meet, her father as a charcoal burner, and her mother managing a small grocery store. Despite the hardships her family faces, Amina's aspirations remain unwavering.

At the tender age of 14, Amina became a mother. The responsibilities of parenthood at such a young age presented immense challenges. Balancing the demands of motherhood with her education seemed insurmountable. Necessities for her baby became luxuries, and time for studying became a scarce commodity.

However, Amina refused to let adversity define her future. She sought support and guidance from Moving The Goalposts’ young mothers group at Dzikunze Dispensary, in Ganze, Kilifi County. In this nurturing environment, Amina found encouragement, practical advice, and a sense of community. Through psychosocial sessions and shared experiences, she gained invaluable insights into family planning and discovered a newfound strength to persevere in her education.

Amina's dreams soared beyond her circumstances. With unwavering determination, she set her sights on becoming a doctor—a beacon of hope for her family and community. Her vision is to uplift those around her, to create a future where independence and self-sufficiency thrive.

The next chapter of Amina's journey is filled with promise and opportunity. Thanks to the generosity of KCB, Amina has been awarded a full scholarship to Kadzonzo Girls Secondary School after scoring 337 marks in the 2023 KCPE examinations. This scholarship not only opens doors to education but also symbolizes a beacon of hope for Amina and her family.
