Irine Neema Mambo, SRHR Officer

Irine Neema Mambo is a passionate social and community development professional with over a decade of experience in sexual and reproductive health and rights. She is currently pursuing a degree in Community Development and Social Work at Mount Kenya University. With extensive expertise in managing health-related projects, she has led initiatives in menstrual hygiene management and young mothers’ programs, ensuring access to vital reproductive health information and services.

Irine is known for her creativity and innovative approach to sexual and reproductive health education. She integrates engaging football drills and fun activities into her sessions, making learning interactive and enjoyable for girls and young women. She has also played a pivotal role in shaping key policies and curricula, including the Menstrual Hygiene Policy, the Adolescent and Young People’s Sexual Reproductive Health (AYPSRH) Policy, and the Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) Policy.

At Moving the Goalposts (MTG), Irine works to empower girls and young women with the knowledge and skills to take control of their sexual and reproductive health. She facilitates access to critical health information, encourages positive health-seeking behaviors, and supports young mothers in regaining their confidence and pursuing their dreams.

A highly skilled facilitator, Irine has trained over 1,000 girls in sexual and reproductive health. Her expertise has earned her international recognition, leading training sessions at events such as the WASH event in Uganda and the East Africa Cup through the Kicking AIDS Out initiative in Tanzania.
