Anne Wambugu, Safeguarding Officer



Anne Wambugu, a Safeguarding practitioner, Social Worker, and a passionate believer in creating safe spaces where children and young people can thrive is part of the MTG team. With a background in Social Work, Development Studies, and Project Planning and Management, she has dedicated her career to child protection and community development.
In her role as Safeguarding Officer at Moving the Goalposts (MTG), Anne works every day to ensure that safeguarding is not just a policy on paper, but something that truly protects children, young people and all our stakeholders. She works towards helping to create a culture where young people feel safe, heard, and supported. Through staff trainings, stakeholder engagements, and improved safeguarding procedures, she has helped MTG become a stronger and more responsive organization.
Beyond MTG, Anne has worked on key safeguarding and protection projects across East Africa. She has helped organizations develop safeguarding policies and frameworks. For Anne, safeguarding is not just a job, it is a responsibility that belongs to all of us. She believes that with the right tools, people and organizations can make real, lasting change to ensure every child grows up in a world where they feel safe and valued.
