Dorcas Amakobe, Executive Director



Dorcas Amakobe is an experienced leader in gender and development, organizational growth, and fundraising, with over 20 years of experience in the non-governmental sector. She specializes in community mobilization, movement building, strategic planning, finance and human resource management, and safeguarding.
She is a recognized expert in child safeguarding and was named Child Safeguarding Champion of the Year by Keeping Children Safe during the International Child Safeguarding Week 2024. Her expertise extends to advising and serving on governance boards, including the Imarika Foundation Board of Directors, the Center for Sports and Human Rights, the Esports Federation, and Common Goal. She also contributes as an expert by experience to Comic Relief and the FIFA Safe Sport Interim Steering Group.
Dorcas holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies (Community Development option), a Diploma in Governance and Natural Resource Management, and certifications in Project Management, Business Management, and Social Work.
She is a 2019 African Visionary Fellow, a Vital Voices-Fortune 500 and U.S. State Department Leadership Fellow, and a 2013 alumna of the Feminist Leadership, Movement Building, and Rights Institute East Africa. Passionate about gender equity and social justice, she continues to champion initiatives that create safe and inclusive spaces for women, girls, and marginalized communities.
