Advisory Board

Martha Mwangome

I am currently serving as the assistant to the chair in the advisory board. I joined MTG in 2005 when I moved to work in Kilifi. I share very much in the vision and mission of MTG believing in empowering girls and women with skills and knowledge as they look forward to the future.  Football is a perfect tool in fulfilling this mission and I should know, I played football in both my primary and secondary school years (number 5). It creates in the girls an attitude of " tunaweza", a competitive spirit and discipline.Read more...

Dr Sassy Molyneux

I am a social scientist, interested in research ethics and health systems.  I've been living and working in Kilifi for 15 years, and have been involved with MTG in an advisory capacity since it began.  I currently sit on the research sub-committee.  Being involved in MTG has probably taught me more about girls lives in Kilifi than all of the research that I've done over that period.Read more...

Dorcas Kamuya

Dorcas joined MTK in 2006 as an Advisory Board member. Before that I had a short stint of running the organisation while the manager was on maternity leave. The experience of practically being involved in day-to-day planning, managing of activities, and working with MTG girls made me realise how much fun it can be to work with girls, to listen to their stories, to share in their ups and downs, and still to stand aside and become a mentor, someone they can open up to.Read more...
