As Moving The Goalposts approaches its 15th year, the board and staff in partnership and with support of stakeholders and MTG girls has drafted a new strategic plan 2016 to 2020 to guide the implementation of programme. This has then resulted in the overhaul of the organizational structure. In order to operationalize this new structure, MTG wishes to fill the positions listed below.  

 

1.     Post title:            Leadership Development Coordinator

Reports to:               Programme Manager

Job Purpose              Develop and implement the delivery of the leadership programs and assist in the facilitation, administration and promotion of MTG leadership curriculum and the integration of football activities with community involvement in the coastal region.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop girls' football and leadership skills; strengthen community support and contribution towards these gains.
  • Conduct a stakeholder mapping exercise, and develop a stakeholder database, an engagement strategy and plan.
  • Oversee MTG's expansion strategy in new counties and provide an oversight in scaling up in existing Counties.
  • Revise, re-design and develop new training curricula for football and community liaison programs.
  • Oversee the implementation of a vibrant community engagement program.
  • Provide an oversight role over a quality league program; increase the number of girls that register to participate annually, comprehensive fixture, quality officiating of matches by referees, age appropriate coaching, timely and up to date league standing , regular coaching and football practice and a culture that always promote fair play and women leadership.
  • Manage the training and skill development program; identify opportunities for girls that are in line with football and leadership development.
  • Oversee the creation, registration and management of MTG football club
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with local and international institutions for football training and tournament's where girls can participate and nurture their talents
  • Overall management of MTG equipment in the football store and that provided in the league fields
  • Oversee the capacity development of staff in football and community liaison department
  • In charge of the implementation of football and community liaison strategic outcomes as stated in MTG strategic plan 2016 to 2020.
  • Oversee drawing of  effective budgets and management of funds allocated to the football and community liaison departments
  • Conduct regular staff appraisals for team leaders in the football and community liaison department
  • Work closely with the Program Manager and the fundraising officer to develop concepts for funding, pitching to donors and resource mobilization for football and community engagement programs.
  • Oversee monitoring and evaluation activities for the football and community liaison

 

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree from a recognized university
  • Programme/Project Management experience of 3 years and above
  • Good writing skills
  • Football experience/interest would be an added advantage
  • Fluency in English and Kiswahili is required

 

2.     Post Title:           Training Advocacy and Empowerment coordinator

Reporting to:           Programme Manager

Job Purpose:              This position shall oversee the development and implementation of MTG's first Advocacy Strategy while overseeing the work of implementation of various life skills that are provided in addition to the leadership curriculum at MTG.  These currently include Education, Livelihood and Sexual and Reproductive Health programmes. The role will be in charge of publications for external communication.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To oversee the startup and roll out of MTG Advocacy programme
  • Oversee all the life skills trainings offered by MTG which currently include Education , Livelihood, Health and Advocacy programmes
  • Manage the revision, re-design and development of new training curricula for Education, Livelihood, Health, Young Men as Equal partners and child protection  programs
  • Manage the review of existing MTG savings model and program  and design an implementation framework
  • Oversee the implementation of a robust education program to ensure that MTG girls are able to continue with their education and transition to higher education.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of MTG volunteer policy
  • Oversee identification and management of stakeholders and partners in implementation of departmental programmes.
  • In charge of the implementation of departmental strategic outcomes as stated in MTG strategic plan 2016 to 2020.
  • Oversee drawing of effective budgets and management of funds allocated to the departmental programs.
  • Oversee the review and redesign of MTG communication strategy and plan, oversee the implementation of MTG communication strategy and activities.
  • Work closely with the Program Manager and the fundraising officer to develop concepts for funding, pitching to donors and resource mobilization for Education, health and advocacy programs.
  • Oversee and take part in writing departmental, annual and donor reports.
  • Participate in Leadership Team roles including supervision and appraisal of staff

 

  • SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Degree from a recognized university
  • Experience in advocacy and curriculum development
  • Programme Management experience of 3 years and above
  • Good writing skills

 

3.     Post Title:           Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator

Reporting to:           Programme Manager

Job purpose:            Management of the Monitoring and Evaluation Department including oversight of other staff in the department and participation in Management Committee. The role also incorporates communication duties and responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Propose an M & E Strategy that is aligned to the strategic plan 2016 to 2020 of the organization
  • Develop and implement M & E procedures and guidelines to support the programme implementation and enable MTG achieve its strategic objectives.
  • Spearhead research on key issues that MTG needs to understand to guide programme development
  • Design and implement data collection and reporting controls and procedures that ensure accuracy and reliability of data that is collected
  • Development and review of comprehensive overall Monitoring and Evaluation framework and toolkits including performance indicators and benchmarks for all aspects of the organisation's strategic direction
  • Coordinate all research and evaluations of MTG programmes
  • Collate and analyse data for reports and produce a systematic and analytical progress report to guide management in decision making.
  • Research and recommend appropriate software for data collection, archiving and analysis for the organisation to procure
  • Training staff on efficient use of Monitoring and Evaluation tools
  • Work closely with the Program Manager and the fundraising officer to develop concepts for funding, pitching to donors and resource mobilization for Monitoring and evaluation
  • Ensure publication of findings from research undertaken by MTG in reputable journals
  • Participate in the Team Leadership Committee and undertake oversight and appraisal of staff in the department

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

  • A degree holder from a recognized university
  • Three years' experience and above undertaking research and managing data in a demanding environment
  • Experience in working with M & E software e.g. Sales force or any other
  • Proven capacity to manage a team of staff within the department
  • Excellent standard of written English and ability to communication effectively
  • High level of proficiency in the use of MS Office, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

 

Desirable:

  • Understanding of Sport for Development
  • Degree in Monitoring and Evaluation

 

 

4.     Post title:            Football Team Leader

Reporting to:           Leadership Development Coordinator

Job Purpose:             To coordinate the MTG football leagues and competitions both internally and externally

                         

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To oversee selections of MTG United teams, trainings, participation in local and international tournaments and professional development of coaches.
  • Coordinate Registration of MTG Club, recruitment of players and resource mobilization for Club
  • Design a training strategy and capacity development plan for referees, first aiders and peer educators from basic to professional skill development
  • Oversee the coordination of all MTG annual tournaments;
  • Generate monthly team reports, donor reports and individual activity reports
  • Oversee staff football team practice and fitness program.
  • Review or develop football training curricular for coaches, referees, first aiders and MTG Leadership Curriculum and ensure effective implementation.
  • Develop a strong partnership with football stakeholders both locally and internationally
  • To oversee the management of football store, ensure adequate stocking of match reports, footballs etc. Oversee quarterly stock take and provide up to date report of the football store to the Coordinator.
  • Manage MTG first aid provision in all activities, ensure that there's adequate supply of all first aid essentials in MTG league fields.
  • Oversee, Coordinate and monitor the implementation plan of all football based life skills coaching Programs.

  • Diploma or certificate in relevant course
  • Programme implementation experience
  • Football experience -over 3 years

 

 

 

5.     Post title:             Advocacy and Communication Team Leader

Reports to:              Training Advocacy and Empowerment Coordinator

Supervisees:            -Young Men As Equal Partners Officer

-Child Protection Officer

Job Purpose:              The Job shall be directly charged with advocacy and communication, while providing supervision to the Young Men as Equal Partners officer and the Child Protection officer. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review the draft MTG Advocacy and Communication policies and strategies responding to the priorities as set out in the Strategic Plan 2016 to 2020
  • Undertake strategic advocacy and campaigning on the above areas
  • Build profile and influence of MTG to be able to contribute to the national discussion on girls and womens rights.
  • Work with staff on developing and articulating coordinated action on key advocacy issues.
  • Ensure advocacy campaigns include evidence collection, documentation needed to communicate findings and recommendations clearly to media, government, community and other stakeholders.
  • In partnership with other staff, engage in proposal writing to raise resources for advocacy and communications work.
  • Provide support to staff to ensure the inclusion of advocacy, campaigns and girls and womens rights in the designing, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all MTG programmes.
  • Take a lead on all external published communication to ensure that advocacy messages are clear and reach appropriate audiences.
  • Develop and implement an MTG media engagement strategy
  • Ensure consistency in MTG's branding and messaging internally and externally
  • Oversee the generation of ideas and publishing of MTG newsletters, reports and other publications
  • Oversee the efficient implementation of the child protection policy
  • Develop an M & E strategy for the Advocacy programs.
  • Oversee the drafting of departmental, annual and donor reports.
  • Oversee the implementation of the Young Men as equal partners program; training of men, boys and coaches from MTG league communities.
  • Oversee the efficient implementation of the child protection policy and supervise the child protection officer
  • Conduct regular staff appraisals for YMEP officer and the Child Protection Officer.

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree or Diploma or in relevant course
  • Programme implementation experience
  • Advocacy and Communication experience over 3 years

 

 

6.     Post title:            Community Liaison Team Leader

Reports to:               Leadership Development Coordinator

Supervisee:              All Divisional Assistants

Job Purpose:              The role exists as a bridge between MTG and the community of the girls we serve. It ensures that the organisation continues to enjoy the support of the local community and that the community members understand our work. The department works directly with girls and oversees the day to day management of the leagues.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • To oversee the recruitment, participation and development of girls in the MTG Programme
  • Revise and re-design a training curriculum and develop a capacity development plan for field leaders, captains and field committee members.
  • Oversee the mobilization and recruitment of teams to participate in MTG annual school tournaments, organize divisional teachers/coaches meeting and act as liaison between football department and divisional Assistants during the tournaments
  • Plan and implement a continuous community engagement plan that reaches out to parents and community members.
  • Organize stakeholder engagement forums, partner with like-minded organizations to mark international days and participate in partners fora.
  • Monitor and provide updates on activities, changes and challenges faced at the field level and propose solutions to ensure they are dealt with in a timely manner
  • Oversee MTG's expansion strategy in new counties and provide an oversight in scaling up in existing Counties.
  • Oversee the management of all MTG equipment's distributed to league fields and divisions;
  • Prepare departmental weekly, monthly, donor and annual reports
  • Prepare weekly, annual and quarterly plans and budgets
  • Participate in the Team Leadership Committee and undertake oversight and appraisal of staff in the department

7.     Post title:            Education Health & Livelihoods Team Leader

Reports to:               Training Advocacy Empowerment Coordinator

Supervisee:              - Education and Vocational Officer

-In school Programme Assistant

                                    -Peer Education Assistant

Job purpose:               This role will oversee the implementation of various life skills that are provided in addition to the leadership curriculum at MTG.  These currently include Education, Livelihood and Sexual and Reproductive Health programmes.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Oversee the implementation of annual Education, Livelihood and Health programmes and strategies in MTG.
  • Review all existing training manuals and curriculum to respond to the needs of the beneficiaries and the principles of simplicity, engaging content and age appropriateness.
  • Work closely with the community liaison program to ensure that girls registered in MTG benefit from a robust education program and are able to continue with their education and transition to higher education.
  • Build relationships with schools, vocational training centers, technical colleges, universities and potential employers for placement of girls registered in MTG program.
  • Develop guidelines for volunteer engagement in MTG programs. Provide separate volunteer pathways for beneficiaries in school, out of school and for external volunteers.
  • Organize and oversee quality trainings in business management and vocational skills, financial literacy, counseling, peer education, youth peer providers and the MTG savings model
  • Develop a strategy to ensure the registration of MTG SACCO
  • Identify and communicate with key stakeholders and partners in implementation of Education , livelihood and Health programs
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual plans  and budgets
  • Oversee monitoring and evaluation activities for the education, health and advocacy programs.
  • Write concepts for resource mobilization in partnership with supervisees and other staff.
  • Prepare departmental, annual and donor reports.
  • Participate in the Team Leadership Committee and undertake oversight and appraisal of staff in the Team

8.     Post title:             Information Technology Assistant

Reports to:                           The Finance Manager

Job Purpose:              The job post shall be the center for the administration of all ICT issues including means of communication and also maintenance of both hard ware and software.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Propose an ICT Strategy that is aligned to the Strategic Plan 2016 to 2020 of the organization
  • Develop and implement ICT procedures and guidelines to support the organisations operations and enable it achieve its strategic objectives.
  • Design and implement controls and procedures that ensure accuracy and reliability in Date Capture, Data Processing and Dissemination of Information.
  • Be the first contact for MTG office phone and organisational email account.
  • Design and implement information security procedures for information system applications and infrastructure.
  • Prepare the annual ICT budget for proposal by the Finance Manager
  • Manage, oversee and maintain all IT assets in keeping with the Assets Register and the Administration manual and liaise with external service providers on all ICT issues
  • Ensure LAN is connected, operating and virus free and excellent internet connectivity for staff members
  • Provide basic computer training to staff and education to users regarding software and hardware upgrades
  • Keep technology licenses and legal documents up to date and monitor contracts with technology vendors
  • Update and maintain the website and ensure ease of use by external and internal users
  • Oversee the usage of the Data management systems
  • Maintain records of all users and user activities and report any nefarious online activity to the management
  • Provide general support to visitors
  • Maintain contact lists for MTG

 

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

  • A Diploma certificate in IT from a recognized Institution
  • Three years' work experience
  • Excellent standard of written English and ability to communicate effectively
  • High level of proficiency in the use of MS Office, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in Website Management
